WhenIwasyoung,Iwantedtogrowthings.Today,Igrowtreesinforests.Myjobistomakesurethataforestregrowsaftertreesareharvested.WhereIwork,weharvestabout3,000 hectares(7,410acres)ayear.Two-thirdsofthisareagrowsbacknaturally.Theotherone-thirdneedstobeplanted.That’swhereIcome in.
Duringthewinter,Iworkinanoffice.Iplanwhatwewillplantinthesummer,developbudgets,andhireworkers.InMay,Isupervisethetreeplant.Weplantbetween600,000and1,000,000treeseveryyearinMay.Iwatchthegrowthofthesenewtreesandthetreesalready there.

Ittakesabout80yearsbeforemanytreesarelargeenoughtoharvestagain.IwillnevergettoseethetreesthatIplanttodaybecometheforestsoftomorrow.ButIknowthatI'mgivingthemagood start.

TheworkIdoisimportant.Peoplewhowanttousethetrailsneedtoknowwheretheyare.Planningfornewtrailsorconnectingexistingtrailsisanotherwaythatmappingisimportant.Everyday,myjobbringssomething different!
